What I use this machine for:

I'm gonna install Windows 10 on it (already have) to play emulators (F-Zero fucking G. X. let's gooooooooooo!!!!) and explore the greek islands in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and play Far Cry 5 & Halo Master Chief Collection :D

Backstory and history of the machine:

Ps. The text below is the original backstory. The machine works just fine now.

My most recent acquisition. I got it this summer (2024) from a family acquintance. For free. Aww yeah! Thank you thank you thank you!!
This PC has the most powerful CPU so far of any of my machines :D So it will become a gaming rig the games that are too demanding for the CPU of System #1, or don't support Windows 7.
As I recently got a new hard drive I will be taking an older, 500 GB hard drive from System #1 and putting it here.
My only worry is that, when I was testing this system out on a live Linux CD, it kept freezing... It didn't do that when I switched over to the integrated graphics. I think there are two most likely scenarios here:

  1. Linux really didn't like the drivers that were being used for the card in the live CD.
  2. The GPU is toast...

I certainly hope it's the former, otherwise I need to get a new GPU. Luckily the prices aren't as insane anymore, especially on the used market, as during the last few years, and I don't necessarily need anything more powerful than a GTX 660, but still...
We'll see, we'll see...
