CPU: Intel Pentium 166 MHz (non-MMX variant)
Motherboard: No idea, don't really care. It has a cool ISA riser card though, giving it multiple ISA and PCI slots.
RAM: 64 MB.
GPU: ATi Rage II+ PCI (4 MB VRAM) & Orchid Righteous! 3D II (12 MB VRAM) - which is a 3Dfx Voodoo 2 chip.
OS: Windows 98 Second Edition.
Disks: 1 GB Quantum Fireball PATA HDD (OS disk), 4 GB Transcend Compactflash 133x card (secondary disk) connected via a Compactflash/IDE adapter.
Case: A glorious beige box, which is designed to sit sideways so one can put the monitor on top of it. The front of the case is bare, because the plastic on it didn't fit back in when I tried to push it in place and then it broke xD
Sound card: Creative Sound Blaster AWE 64.
Network connectivity: None. It doesn't even have a network card installed, nor is there a network port on the motherboard.
Display (primary): Samsung Syncmaster E1920N via VGA. The monitor connects to the Voodoo card, and the Voodoo card has a passthrough cable to the ATi Rage card. It's nice.
Anything else of note: It's extremely comfy, like a mug of hot chocolate on a dark winter evening, with the warmth of a fireplace, the sound of the fireplace crackling, and snow slowly but consistently falling outside for hours on end, gathering in large fluffy piles - while the world keeps on spinning, for a moment it seems like, it's okay to rest. And it is.
The Quantum Fireball is the best sounding HDD I own. It's so crunchy, there's nothing as relaxing as it.
It also has a floppy disk drive and a goddamn DVD drive, I didn't even know it would work on this hardware and Win 98 SE, but it does, and it's funny. The DVD drive is black too while the rest of the system is that old school beige white, it's such a mismatch, and with the addition of the front of the case being totally bare, it's funny as fuck.
Lots of love from and for this system all around :)
MIDI music composing. Playing MS-DOS and Win 3.x to Win 9.x era games that work within the hardware parameters.
Got it for free in the mid 2000s from my brother, who got it for free from someplace or another.
It was gathering dust for years on end without any disks connected to it, but I acquired and installed the disks and set it up back in mid 2025.
