CPU: AMD Athlon 1000
Motherboard: Don't remember, might check out later.
RAM: 256 MB RAM, single stick.
GPU: ATi Radeon 9600 Pro 128 MB
OS: Windows XP and Windows 98 Second Edition, dual boot.
Disks: Two PATA HDDs, one for each OS. XP disk is 120 GB, 98 disk is 40 or 80 GB, I forget, might check out later.
Case: A delicious beige box.
Sound card: Creative Sound Blaster PCI, some variant which I forget. The card actually has quite a nice MIDI palette, but it sucks because when it resamples sound to 44100 Hz (which it seemingly always does) the resampler SUCKS ASS! Might swap this card out for something else at some point if it becomes too annoying...
Network connectivity: It has an ethernet card in it but I will not be connecting it online, ever :)
Display (primary): Samsung Syncmaster E1920N via VGA. The display is shared between this one as System #9, swapping it out depending which one I use.
Anything else of note: It has a DVD drive and a floppy disk drive, which is nifty, and an USB 1.1 PCI addon card. Nifty too, but slow as molasses. Also, the particular PSU of this machine is somehow THE most loud of a PSU I've ever heard, seriously it's like a jet engine, annoying but manageable...
Dunno. I guess Win 9.x and Win XP era games that System #9 can't run and this hardware still can? Also I use it as an intermediary PC when transferring files to and from System #9.
My first PC I remember that purposefully got bought just for lovely old me :) I got it brand new from my dad in 2001, and my older brother modded stuff in it like the Voodoo 4 4500 AGP card I had at the time, and probably the SB PCI card too. Fun times.
As with System #9, it gathered dust for years and was without a disk drive. Got all that sorted out in mid 2025.
